Prisma - A Masterpiece in your hands?
For many users of the web, you'll no doubt be used to coming across various different apps that offer some rather interesting services. Well, with Prima for iOS and Android you are getting access to something seriously effective.
Instagram filters have been a common selection for some time, but many people feel like the filters could use a little more effort and style. The best solution out there for you, then, might just be the Prisma app. It offers consistent design styles and wonderful additions that should make it easier to get your Instagram uploads to start banging.
With awesome art filters and photo effects, it's a piece of cake to make yourself look like an artist with Prisma. However, like all other image editing apps, it has various limitations that you will need to look out for. Whilst a serviceable app, it's always useful to know that this app, for example, has resolution output limits. They can be quite low-res finishes so the photo has to be around 1MP which obviously limits the overall quality that is going to be produced.
With that said, though, Prisma for Android and iOS is highly functional and easy to use. It offers basic features to do with managing and editing the photo, and makes it easy to adapt them and improve photos. Photo filters can be a bit of a nightmare to put on in some cases but this makes it much easier to handle. You simply upload the photo, choose the filter that you want, and let the software work the magic. It's an easy to use piece of kit and we would happily recommend it on functionality alone. With styles that make your work look more like the traditional artists of the past, this can be a good way to make your works come across a little more attractive than before.
However, the layout of Prisma is a bit confusing at first. Whilst you will get there in the end, it takes a bit of planning and preparation to get it just right. With different solutions available that can enhance your photos it takes a lot of trial and error to get exactly what you want. The thing you might find most irritating about the design, though, is how hard it can be to navigate through the menus. If this app is to be updated in the future then we think the Prisma app should be changed in terms of the layout. It's not the worst and you do get used to it, but "getting used to" the layout isn't enough.
The usage of any app should be up there as the most important elements, and thankfully Prisma for Android and iOS is easy to use. It's got a very simple and effective layout, and the overall style is quite easy to get used to. With the smart AI features making it easier to get the right layout when you don't know what you want to go for - albeit after running around the app's labyrinth of options - you can make easy decisions on what is going to look best for each and every photo you wish to manipulate. The design might be an issue but using the app is not really a big problem – once you work out where everything may be, it's very powerful indeed.
Cross-platform use 8/10
Prisma app has just been released for Android users, too. Now we can all include wonderful filters and extras to our photos and make ourselves look even more beautiful than before! If you are reading this and was worried that Prisma for iOS was just that, exclusive to Apple, you can relax. The new Android version means that the Prisma app can be enjoyed by more people than it ever has in the past.
There's no need to purchase anything when you use this app – it all works just as it was advertised. This means that you can easily use this as you would have expected in the first place. As soon as you download and install this app, you have full access.
Prisma is, for a mobile app, effective. Lots of people found it hard to get their ideas across properly in the past when using filters and image tuning tools in other apps. Well, this alters that problem and makes it much easier in the future to change and apply what you expect to an image. If you ever look at the filters on Instagram and wish they were better, try out Prisma app - free!. As far as effective and simple apps go, this can make it much simpler to enjoy your usage of the images you upload by making them even more professional.
Prisma is an effective app that can be a stand-in for Instagram or your own official preference. Take away the rather lackluster menu interface and this is every bit as good as any other photo editing tool out there.
Pros : Extremely easy to use once you learn the menus;
Makes it simple to get a wider variety of tools than limited selections you get on Instagram;
Reduces the challenge of making photos look more "professional";
Simple to learn and easy to get to grips with the filters.
Cons : Menus can be a bit tough to work out at first;
Lacks the same update power that Instagram gets.
